Item 1.Isaac Ellis is thought to be the Isaac Ellis, Jr. in the 1790 census listed as the head of a
Harwich family of one male over 16, two under 16 and three females. He and his wife
sold Harwich land to Silvanus, Isiah and Zenas Chase by two deeds dated 10 Oct 1793.
Before 1818 they had removed to Potsdam, St. Lawrence County, N.Y. when they sold
for $500.00 a tract of land which had come to them from the estate of Mary Chase of Harwich.
Item 2.Isaac Ellis is reported as coming to Springfield with his father ca 1797. He d. 7April 1839
at Patterson, N.Y. (John Plunkett says Patterson, N.Y. is Putnam Co., and was Dutchess Co.
pre-1812, a very difficult area for research.)
