Item 1.Ebenezer 5 Ellis is described as "Ebenezer Ellis of Plymouth, Laborer." He enlisted
in June 1775 in Capt. Josiah King's company, Col. David Brewer's regiment of Mass-
achusetts Line and served eight months at Roxbury. Later he served in New York in
1777, in a few short campaignes in Rhode Island and at West Point. He was appoint-
ed Sergeant 30 December 1776. He is listed in the 1790 census as the head of a
Middleboro family of one male over 16, three under 16 and five females. His will was
dated 14 April 1820 and proved 5 February 1821. Original vital records in poor condition.
Item 2.Ebenezer Ellis (born 15 January 1752, died 28 November 1820): private in a Ma. unit;
married to Hannah Wood; pension appl. (21065) submitted by his widow.
