Charles Ellis, served as a corporal in Capt. Elisha Haskell's company, Col. Benjamin Hawes's regiment July-Sept 1778 and as a private in Capt. Jonah Washburn's company, Col. Ebenezer White's regiment, Mar-Aug 1780. In 1789 they sold all of their Massachusetts property and migrated to Vermont. In the 1790 census Charles is listed as the head of a Woodstock household of two males over 16 and two females. Children are from the Middleboro Vital Records.

Charles Ellis (born 19June 1726, died after 1800): corporal in a Massachusetts unit; married to Bathsheba Fuller.
