Item 1.Barnabas Ellis came to Claremont, N.H. from Hebron, Conn. in the early spring
of 1767. He served with Ethan Allen at Ticonderago and Crown Point and was a
lieutenant under General Stark at the Battle of Bennington.
Item 2.An old Ellis Family Bible was offered on Ebay (on line) listing and John Francis Ellis
made the highest bid to obtain it. Much of the enformation there in begins with
Barnabas Ellis and wife Elizabeth Spencer, to son Barnabas Ellis and wife Belinda
Kidder and to Zenas Clark Ellis and wife Sarah Bowman Dyer. This bible page shows
the following, The Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments: together with
The Apocrypha: Translated out of the original tongues, and with the former translations
diligently compared and revised with Canne's marginal notes and references. to which
are added an index; an alphabetical table of all the names in the old and new testaments,
with their significations; tables of scripture weights, measures, and coins, &c. Auburn
and Rochester: Alden and Beardsley, 1856. 143 year old bible as of Sept. 1999.
