Item 1.Simeon Ellis was born 11 Nov 1727. He died in September 1784 in South Carolina. He married Elizabeth Cotes or Coles. He received tracts of land of 150 acres each in Berkley County, South Carolina in grants dated (1) 2 July 1770, (2) 4 Nov 1772 and (3) 29 Jan 1773. He had a Revolutionary War record serving; (1) from Keene, New Hampshire to Ticonderoga, 1771 and (2) Quartermaster, Newberry County, South Carolina. In Nov 1772 he received a land grant for Beverdam Creek, Berkley County, South Carolina.

Item 2.In 1796 Elizabeth recorded her land deed in South Carolina, probably in order to sell it before she and her family left the area. Her son, Levi Dwire, went first to Kentucky. Later he, his mother, now Mrs. Thomas Wood, Simeon, Jr. , and perhaps other sons and sousins went to Lebanon, Wilson County Tennessee. Thomas Wood died 17 Dec 1823.

Item 3. Elizabeth married (2) Thomas Wood after Simeon's death. There is the possibility of other children than that listed.
