Thomas Giddings came to Gloucester in 1710 and purchased from Benjamin Lafkin a house, which he sold on May 22, 1721, and went to Lyme, Connecticut with his family about 1722-1723. There he purchased land nearly every year for several years, and settled near Beaver Brook.
