Newspaper clipping. Birmingham Girl weds at lovely Home Ceremony.
An event of early July, 1931 was the marriage of Miss Ethel F. Ellis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis A. Ellis, of Birmingham, who became the bride of Mr. Merwin Earl Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Wilson, of Royal Oak, on July 3. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's parents before and altar of pales, ferns and garden flowers, with the Rev. William Davison, pastor of the First Baptist church of Royal Oak, officiating. About 100 quests witnessed the ceremony. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was beautifully gowned in white taffeta lace with tulle veil and wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white roses and baby's breath.
The three sisters of the bride were her attendants. Miss Marion Ellis, maid of Honor, wore
orchid chiffon, while Miss Virginia and Miss Lillian Ellis, as bridesmaids, were gowned in yellow and green embroidered batiste. Mr. Hibbard Wilson, brother of the groom, acted as best man and little Miss Helen Wilson was flower girl.
Following a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson will be at home on Etowah Street, Royal Oak, after July 15. The above wedding information indicates the home of parents and place of wedding as in Birmingham. This home location had a Birmingham, Michigan address but was located in Troy, Michigan.

: Former Royal Oak residents Mr. and Mrs. Merwin E. Wilson (Ethel Ellis) know they're dining this evening with Mrs. Wilson's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward D. Ellis, 2016 North Vermont, Royal Oak. They don't know they'll be honor guests at a surprise family picnic in the Ellis yard to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary. More than 20 members of the family will fete the couple, visiting South Oakland for a month from their

The Ellis' are decorating their yard with crepe paper and balloons for the occasion. The honored couple will join hands to cut a tiered wedding cake.
